HI
Ori Paul Levi is a visual artist and photographer working between Paris and London. His work operates at the intersection of fashion, music, and counterculture, drawing from youth culture and rock and roll to create cinematic, high-contrast imagery that blurs the line between visual art and editorial storytelling.
Levi uses photography to stage emotionally charged scenes — intimate, stylised, and driven by desire and self-expression. His images play with tension: between polish and rawness, tenderness and edge, high fashion and real life.
Raised between Lisbon and London and trained at IED Milan, Levi began his editorial career working with i-D and Wonderland Magazine. He later co-founded QWHO Magazine in London, an independent quarterly print publication dedicated to menswear, culture, and art — a project that firmly embedded his work within the city’s countercultural landscape.
After relocating to Los Angeles, Levi fronted an alt-rock band and returned to photography through performance, music, and storytelling. This period reshaped his visual language, infusing his work with rhythm, immediacy, and a youth-driven energy that continues to inform his practice.
His work spans editorial commissions, fine art projects, and experimental visual narratives. Exhibited internationally in London, Berlin, Los Angeles, and New York — including with the Tom of Finland Foundation — Levi has also been commissioned by fashion brands such as Valentino. His imagery has appeared in publications including i-D, Paper Magazine, Archive Futures, Numéro, and À Part.
At the core of Levi’s work is a commitment to emotional honesty and visual intensity — creating images that fuse raw emotion with stylised beauty, cinematic intimacy with rock-and-roll theatricality, and the charged glamour of youth culture and countercultural desire.
